Panormos:
On 19 June 1920 the Mixed Brigade of Xanthi landed in the coastal city Panormos, which has been captured without any resistance.
Prusa:
On 25 June 1920 units of the Archipelago Division captured the city of Prusa, in the framework of the mopping up operations conducted in the Asia Minor hinterland.
Eski Sehir:
Units of the 3rd Army Corps entered Eski Sehir on 6 July 1921. Two days later one of most important battles of the Asis Minor Campaign took place. In this battle the two opponents engaged practicall full force. The Greek army delivered serious blows against the Turkish troops, which were forced to retreat.
Kutahya:
Forces of the 10th Army Division captured Kutahya on 4 July 1921. In this city the war council convened on 15 July under the presidency of King Konstantine and with the participation of the political and military leadership. In the council the advance towards Ankara has been decided.
Afyon Karahisar:
On 14 March 1921 after tough battles the Greek forces entered Afyon Karahisar, from which they departed on 25 March. The city has been recaptured on 30 June 1921.
Ushak:
Units of the 1st Army Corps captured the city Ushak on 16 August 1920.
Philadelphia:
Forces of the Greek army captured the city of Philadelphia on 11 June 1920.
Sakarya river:
On 1 August 1921 the advance of the Greek army towards Ankara began, according to the decisions taken in the war council of Kytahya of 4 July. The crossing of Sakarya river and the march in the Salt Desert has been a trial for the soldiers. Despite the positive in general lines development of the battles for the Greek side, it was impossible to split the Turkish forces and the advance to Ankara to be continued. In addition, the stay of the Greek army there was impossible due to the difficulty of supply and the adverse conditions of the area. Thus, in the end of August the retreat of the front was decided towards the end of August in the line Eski Sehir, Kutahya, Afyon Karahisar. This manoeuvre has been completed on 14 September 1921.
