In the six-volume work "Greek Scouting" Mr. Nikos Kourkouris traces the beginning of the movement from 1910 to 1935 through its principal creators.

Through the original material from scout unions all over Greece, the author demonstrates that scouting was a movement that participated, through its activities, in the Greek history of the twentieth century. The book illuminates events of the Interwar period that played a decisive role in modern political history and influences the development of the movement. As a matter of fact, leading political figures, like the prime minister Eleftherios Venizelos, and distinguished intellectuals, like Dimitris Glinos, the innovator of educational reforms and member of the Educational Group, led the Scouts of Greece and influenced with their decisions its development. At the same time, it highlights the activity of the simple scouts of that period, who always faithful to their Promise aided the poor and weak, assisted the Greek army in the front and demonstrated excellent charitable work.
