Delphi - Bouleuterion

Rectangular building of small dimensions within the sacred enclosure of Delphi. It was the seat of the small, local Boule, and dates back to the 6th century BC.

Its interior layout is presumed to have contained a colonnade and wooden benches along the walls. However, other researchers see evidence of a different arrangement of seats, following the natural slope.

Identification of the building as a Bouleuterion was made based on textual evidence and inscriptions. Today the ruins of the building are preserved in a poor state.
