Characteristics of a good pankratiast

Philostratus claims that the ideal pankratiast should possess the physical strength to be the best wrestler among the boxers and the best boxer among the wrestlers.

Among the leading pankratiasts were Lygdames of Syracuse, Dorieus of Rhodes - son of the famous boxer Diagoras - Sostratus of Sicyon, Theagenes of Thasos and Polydamas of Skotoussa.
